Mo Layer Terms of Service

These Terms of Service describe the rules for using Mo Layer, including the iPhone app, website, feedback forms, support channels, subscription features, and related services. By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Mo Layer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who provides Mo Layer
Mo Layer is provided by 林逍遥. You can contact the developer at xfy150150@gmail.com.
For these Terms, “Mo Layer”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the developer and the product. “You” refers to the person who installs, purchases, accesses, or uses Mo Layer.
2. What Mo Layer does
Mo Layer is a private photo vault and secure file organizer for iPhone. It is designed to help you keep photos, videos, screenshots, IDs, contracts, receipts, links, and private files in a dedicated private archive.
The app may include local vault protection, private organization tools, discreet access patterns, decoy space features, encrypted iCloud sync, recovery tools, intrusion records, and Pro subscription features. Feature availability may depend on your device, iOS version, app version, App Store region, subscription status, and Apple services.
Mo Layer is not a financial, legal, medical, emergency, identity-verification, evidence-preservation, or long-term archival guarantee service. You are responsible for deciding whether Mo Layer is suitable for the sensitivity and value of the files you store.
3. Eligibility
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms in your country or region. If you are below the age required to enter a binding agreement, you may use Mo Layer only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
You may not use Mo Layer if applicable law prohibits you from using the app or receiving the service.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your device, Apple ID, iCloud account, passcode, biometric settings, and app unlock method secure.
- Maintaining your own backups when files are important.
- Confirming imported files are available inside Mo Layer before deleting originals from Photos, Files, Messages, email, cloud drives, or other apps.
- Remembering or safely storing credentials, passcodes, recovery information, and settings that are required to access your vault.
- Using Mo Layer only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not violate the rights of others.
If your device is lost, compromised, jailbroken, infected with malware, shared with others, or configured insecurely, Mo Layer may not be able to protect your content from every risk.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, documents, text, links, metadata, feedback, and other content you import, create, or submit through Mo Layer.
You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the service features you choose to use. For example, if you submit website feedback, we may store and review that feedback so we can respond, diagnose issues, and improve the product. If you enable iCloud-related features, your encrypted vault data may be stored through Apple services under your Apple account environment.
We do not claim ownership over your private vault content. We do not sell your private vault content. Mo Layer is designed so that private vault content is local-first, and optional sync content is encrypted before upload.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mo Layer to:
- Break the law or help others break the law.
- Store, create, distribute, or conceal content that violates another person’s rights.
- Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or harm another person.
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.
- Attempt to bypass App Store rules, payment rules, subscription restrictions, usage limits, security protections, or access controls.
- Reverse engineer, tamper with, overload, scrape, attack, or disrupt the app, website, databases, or third-party services used by Mo Layer.
- Submit malicious code, spam, false reports, abusive feedback, or content that interferes with product operation.
We may restrict, suspend, or stop providing access to website or support features if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, creates risk, or is required by law.
7. Privacy and security boundaries
Mo Layer is built around local-first privacy. However, no app can guarantee absolute security. Security depends on your device security, iOS protections, Apple services, app implementation, your configuration, and how you handle originals, backups, sharing, screenshots, exports, and recovery information.
Mo Layer cannot protect content after you export it, share it, store it in another app, save it to an untrusted cloud service, screenshot it, record the screen, or allow another person to access your unlocked device.
The Mo Layer website is not a web vault. Do not upload private vault files through feedback forms or support messages unless specifically requested for troubleshooting and only after removing sensitive information.
8. iCloud sync and recovery
Mo Layer may offer optional encrypted iCloud sync or recovery features. These features depend on Apple’s iCloud, CloudKit, device settings, network availability, account state, storage quota, and Apple service availability.
When sync is enabled, Mo Layer is designed to upload encrypted content for recovery and device changes. The developer does not hold your decryption key. This also means we may be unable to recover your vault if required local keys, passcodes, Apple account access, device trust, or recovery information are lost.
You are responsible for checking sync status, keeping sufficient iCloud storage, maintaining Apple account access, and confirming recovery works before relying on sync for critical files.
9. Subscriptions, purchases, and billing
Mo Layer may offer free features, paid subscriptions, lifetime purchases, trials, or promotional access. Paid features may include higher capacity, batch organization, encrypted sync, recovery tools, decoy controls, intrusion records, and other Pro capabilities.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple manages payment processing, receipts, renewals, cancellations, refunds, taxes, family sharing availability, and payment disputes according to Apple’s terms and App Store policies. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Subscription plans, trial availability, prices, and included features may vary by country, currency, app version, App Store configuration, and time. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
If a subscription expires, is canceled, cannot be renewed, or is refunded, Pro features may become unavailable. We may still allow limited access needed to view, export, or manage existing local content, but we do not guarantee that every paid workflow will remain available without an active entitlement.
10. App changes and availability
We may add, modify, rename, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the product, comply with law, address security issues, fix bugs, adapt to Apple platform changes, or manage service reliability.
We try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, error-free, compatible with every device, or available in every region.
11. Third-party services
Mo Layer may rely on third-party services such as Apple App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, device frameworks, email, website hosting, analytics-free infrastructure, and a feedback database provider. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party outages, account restrictions, policy changes, billing decisions, security incidents, or data handling practices outside our control.
12. Intellectual property
Mo Layer, including the app design, website, text, logos, icons, visual assets, code, product names, and related materials, is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for rights expressly granted to you, we retain all rights in the product and related materials.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Mo Layer except where allowed by law or with written permission.
13. Feedback
If you send ideas, bug reports, feature requests, privacy concerns, or other feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. We may use feedback to improve, prioritize, market, support, or operate Mo Layer.
Please do not include private vault files, passwords, passcodes, identity documents, payment information, or highly sensitive content in feedback unless we specifically ask for it and you understand the risk.
14. Disclaimers
Mo Layer is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent allowed by law. We do not make guarantees that the app or website will be uninterrupted, error-free, fully secure, compatible with every device, or able to recover every file in every circumstance.
We do not guarantee that private content will never be lost, corrupted, exposed, deleted, or inaccessible. You should keep independent backups for important files and test recovery paths before relying on any vault product as your only copy.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, device access, account access, or opportunity arising from your use of Mo Layer.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Termination
You may stop using Mo Layer at any time. You are responsible for exporting or backing up content before deleting the app, resetting your device, changing Apple accounts, disabling iCloud, or canceling related services.
We may stop providing website, feedback, support, or service features if required by law, if the product is discontinued, or if your use violates these Terms.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the product, law, platform rules, business model, or service providers change. The updated version will be posted on this website with a new effective date. Your continued use of Mo Layer after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
